Happy Easter!

We have had a wonderful Easter as a family. We all woke up at 7 am (at that point both girls were squished in our bed) and told Mya that the Easter bunny came to our house. We told her to go find her present. She was too scared to go by herself so we all went out to the living room together and the girls found their Easter baskets. They were both so excited.

Then, surprisingly, we made it to church by 9. We gave both girls baths and took baths ourselves as well as fed everyone breakfast. After church Dan went running, Sara took a nap, Mya watched a movie, and I made a trifle. It was my first ever trifle and I think it turned out really well. I was proud of myself. I even took a picture of it.

We went to my Dad's house for a wonderful Easter lunch........ham, potatoes, green beans, beer bread, jello salad, deviled eggs, and of course my trifle. Everything was fantastic. The highlight of the afternoon was when Mya stuffed her shirt with napkins so it looked like she was well endowed. I got pictures of this too. Of course she decided to do this at the dinner table of all places.

Now we are home from our fun day and everyone is napping while I watch Lifetime and type this blog entry. I also have Sara sleeping on my lap. Talk about multi-tasking! Just for fun I included more pictures of the day and a picture of me and my hubbie. He is such a good husband and daddy!

Easter Pictures

I took the girls to get their Easter pictures taken tonight and boy was it an adventure. Dan had to work late and I could only get an appointment at 5:00 so I had to take them by myself. Now imagine two little ones getting their pictures taken during dinner time. It was crazy! We got there and they were running behind so we got pictures taken a half hour late. The girls did well during the photo shoot, but then they fell apart when it was time to choose the pictures. Then we had to wait for the pictures to be developed so I took them to Panera to get some dinner. Sara cried very loud through the whole meal while Mya jumped in the booth. She gets very loopy when she is tired and hungry. Then she had a poopy diaper so I had to change that right there in the booth. I ended up taking the girls out of the restaurant within 5 minutes of being there. I grabbed our food, wrapped it up in napkins, and took the girls to the car. Sara continued to cry and cry and cry while we waited for the pictures to be developed. Finally I got them and we drove home. Wow, what an experience! At least the pictures turned out great.

Way Behind

Man am I way behind on my blogging. Mostly because not much has been going on around here other than the regular day to day things like changing diapers, fixing meals, cleaning up pee pee accidents, gong for walks, shopping, running with my hubbie, going to the library, and teaching school. I guess that is a good thing that there isn't much to report. Regular routine life is good for me. Dan and I were able to go on a date this week and we went running together yesterday. I absolutely love having that time with him. When we were dating we exercised together and that is something that we enjoyed doing. So it is always fun to recreate those moments when we are married. Dan is getting stronger by the day, but we still have another recovery time to deal with when he has his upcoming surgery. Hopefully that will be a much quicker recovery.

Yesterday we had a family haircutting session with my sister in law. She came to the house and cut our hair. Mya was very interested in Leah's equipment and wanted to try things out for herself. This is a picture of Mya wearing Leah's hair clip while she watched a movie (you have to look closely at the picture to see the clip). When it came time for me to have my eyebrows waxed, Mya helped pull the cloth off of my skin. She thought that was pretty cool, but was concerned about me having a boo boo. She has such a sweet heart.

One of the beauties of being able to stay home with children is waking up to their sweet slumber. I took a picture this morning of sweet Sara sleeping.

Well, I am off to teach preschool to four precious toddlers!

I was cooking dinner yesterday, came around the corner to check on the kids, and saw this great scene. The kids rocked on Dan's lap for a half hour while they watched a cartoon. So precious!
